2014 Get Started Write Challenge: Day 25

We’re going to spend most of the rest of this week focused on assembling a book proposal. We’ll mainly focus on a nonfiction book proposal, though I’ll share some thoughts and tips on fiction proposals as well.

For today’s task, spend the day brainstorming book ideas. Consider your experience, expertise, interests, etc. Look at books on your topics and other topics that might not be related to see if there are treatments that haven’t been applied to your topic.

Just consider book ideas. For my part, I plan to work up a proposal on a poetry reference title. I plan for it to include poetry craft instruction, poetry prompts, poetic forms, advice on poetry submissions, poetry promotion, and more.

Land a book deal in 2014!

Learn how.
