Recently, I sent the 2013 Writer’s Market to the printer. It’s the best edition yet, but my focus is already on getting the 2014 Writer’s Market started.
If you’re familiar with the Writer’s Market series (and you should be), you’ll know that these books (and WritersMarket.com) are loaded with listings for companies looking to publish and pay writers, in addition to expanding their careers. But the books and website also offer plenty of helpful writing instruction, career development advice, interviews, and more.
For Writer’s Market in particular, I’m looking for articles on how to accomplish specific business-related goals. For instance, articles on how to improve use of social media, sell books (whether traditionally published or self-published), increase writing income using non-traditional methods, and more. Plus, strong advice on query letters and book proposals is always welcome.
If you think you have such an article to offer, follow these guidelines:
- Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: 2014 Writer’s Market Pitch
- Give pitch (or multiple pitches) first
- Include a brief bio last
- Deadline for submissions is August 8, 2012
If you have any questions, send them my way. Otherwise, get thinking of article ideas.
